In our Tea Studio, there’s something for everyone - whether you’re a tea connoisseur or someone who just enjoys the occasional cuppa - and we’re hoping to bring that same range onto the page with our blogs.
With over 3,000 different tea varieties in the world, it can be hard to know which to try, taste, or buy and although we only stock 45+ teas (which includes some of our own special blends!) we’d really like to open up the wonderful world of tea to everyone so that anyone can browse our tea selection with ease and find their perfect cup.
Now, before we get too into the tea talk, allow us to introduce ourselves: we are the West Highland Tea Company and we’ve got tea for you!
We’re a family-run business at the end of the ‘Road to the Isles’ in Mallaig and we’re passionate about bringing you the finest teas from around the world. Our in-house hand blended teas are all original recipes, each developed with great care to ensure the highest quality taste in every cup.
Established in April 2020, The West Highland Tea Company came from Rachael Robertson’s love of tea. Having travelled to China, Japan, and India, Rachael’s adventures fuelled her fascination and knowledge of tea. Returning to her home in Mallaig, she realised that there was a unique opportunity for her to share her experience and passion for tea with the community.
Between our Gift Shop and Tea Studio, we work hard to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible and strive to provide our customers with delicious tea - to have in or to take home - and the most gorgeous gifts/trinkets to commemorate their time on the magical West Coast.
